Chuck Scammer, Hakeem Olé Jeffries, and other Democrats keep saying that the Republicans control every branch of government; that we are in the middle of a Republican shutdown!  But that claim is not the whole truth; it’s a half-truth. People are aware that the Republicans hold the majority in the House and the Senate, and that the President is a Republican, so Schumer’s pitch makes sense to them.
