Before I get to the militia, I must write about Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, whose replies have been entertaining and have some politicians recoiling from his wit.
When he was questioned at a Senate hearing by Sen. Elizabeth Warren, she framed her question to blame President Trump for high grocery prices. Bessent made it clear to her that the high prices were not from Trump but from “You and the Biden administration,” and added that there was an affordability crisis and that “you were front and center in it.”
Warren kept a straight face despite being blamed and did not reply. But in a later video, Warren framed her argument and content without Bessent being present to interrupt and challenge her allegations. Pocohontas is quite clever—and just as evil.
In another hearing, Congressman Stephen Lynch began raising his voice, almost yelling at Bessent, who calmly asked the congressman to speak louder because he could not hear him. Lynch got the message, then eased up. It was a good finesse by Bessent.
Then there was Maxine Waters, who on February 4, openly overtalked Bessent and treated him rudely as she framed her long questions with false data and cheap political attacks, then demanded that he answer “yes or no” to her non-sequitur tirade. Bessent began to clarify the issue, but Waters immediately tried to stop him by scolding him, repeatedly shouting, “Reclaiming my time!” Bessent kept talking—with a slight smile—causing Waters to ask the chairman if he could “shut him up.”
Waters took so long ranting that she ran out of time, then protested that she had run out of time. Bessent smiled.
The democrat faction is showing their backers that the republicans deserve a great deal of disrespect, that they should be treated with disdain.
Obviously, the democrats are trying to derail Bessent’s efforts to clean up the corruption. Yesterday, Secretary Bessent said that they have created a whistleblower website that would provide rewards for fruitful tips, saying that what they are uncovering in Minnesota is astounding: “The numbers keep getting bigger and bigger.” Then he went further: “Attorney General Keith Allison was in front of Congress yesterday. I thought he gave some very unsatisfactory answers, and it seemed like, from what I saw, that there was a circular system where people were stealing from the federal government, then donating back to politicians.”
For those of you who are old like me, you may remember that Bill Clinton had a similar system: any legislation aimed at stopping frivolous lawsuits against doctors and firms in the medical profession could not pass the Senate, so the lawsuits continued. Then the trial lawyers were donating to the Clintons.
It has been obvious for some time now that the leftist democrats care only about getting themselves back in power. Despite the fact that Trump has cut out billions of dollars of fraud, cut down illegal immigration and illegal drug imports, they want to get rid of Trump and his MAGA-nauts—in any way possible—so they can get another democrat drone back in the executive office and do what they want.
Think about what the democrats have done. They allowed an invasion of millions of unvetted border crossers, many of whom are murderers and rapists, then, when they are faced with deportation, they get hundreds of people to protest the enforcement of our laws and show tremendous disrespect for those who support our Constitution’s order.
Now we know that these protesters/rioters are well-paid and cared for by sources foreign to the United States. It is truly an invasion.
What can we do about it? Are militias the answer?
The National Rifle Association has been receiving my money for several years, because we both believe that Amendment II of our Constitution, which gives citizens the right to possess firearms, is important to our nation’s survival. But the NRA is one of several gun rights organizations, and it appears that their numbers are dropping from their claim of having five to six million members.
The NRA recently stopped publishing two of its magazines, Shooting Illustrated and America’s First Freedom, citing the costs of printing and distribution. In those magazines, I saw advertisements for many sports and military-style firearms, as well as for costly, artistic firearms that celebrated people such as John Wayne or historical events. Obviously, these fancy units are not taken out on elk hunts, but they cater to the yuppie firearm owners as a showpiece.
The drift in the purpose of gun rights groups has been obvious: embrace the right conferred by the Second Amendment, but not the energy of the national protection it sought. Although their gun rights reverence is steady, they are silent on citizens organizing militias.
Founding Father James Madison explained the importance of citizen militias in Federalist # 46, but he wrote that they were intended to keep the federal government in check, not factions. Madison wrote in Federalist #10 of how we can deal with factions, which we now face with these protesters, but did not recommend that militias take care of that problem.
Before Madison wrote those points—prior to the Boston Tea Party—patriots had ransacked the house of Massachusetts Governor Thomas Hutchinson, who left the house just before the patriots arrived. Around the same time, some tax collectors were tarred and feathered. Patriots were the answer.
The only active groups now are leftist groups. They have protested at the residences of Supreme Court Justices, politicians, newsmen, and shot conservative politicians with whom they disagree. Some are paid well for their antics and have been seen at various events in different states. They are organized and active, while conservative America sits in the Lazyboy.
I’m reading that the feds have been gathering cell phone information and facial recognition data for later use. But the leftist energy is gaining momentum as high schools and universities join in the protests, which are protests against our nation defending itself! As I write this, I am reading that congress
My discussions on the Internet reveal that today’s leftist-democrat faction is entirely anti-Trump, even in matters of national security. They have opposed every voter accountability measure and every anti-corruption measure in Congress. What’s worse is that they have congress-critters who actually swear their Oath of Office on a Koran, which espouses a blatantly anti-constitutional takeover of our nation.
The point here is that our national security is on the table, and the patriotic citizens are sitting on their hands. In the last hundred years, this is the most important time for the formation and use of citizens’ militias, or similar.
Perhaps the patriots could create a baseball team, each carrying a Louisville Slugger to protest the protesters, peacefully, of course.
