Trump’s shock and awe presidency is invading many sectors of government that have enjoyed minimal accountability but now must open their records. There is one that stands out in my mind, BIGLY.
The highest ranking official in the Treasury Dept., David Lebryk, suddenly resigned this week when the DOGE team asked for access to the records of their disbursements. This concerns spending trillions of dollars that have never been questioned.
Rumor is that some whistleblowers claimed that they had to approve checks without any accountability, thereby drawing attention to the funding of some very questionable groups; lots of money is involved; LOTS. So, when the spotlight hit this funding mechanism, the cockroaches started to scatter.
This event is not getting the press coverage that it deserves.
Boom! I have noticed what some other writers have noticed; that Trump is the first president to actually get the investigations and replacements moving instead of just talking about them. He had teams that were fully ready to undertake this task with all the energy necessary, evident by the speed of his processes. His is truly a shock-and-awe move against big, unaccountable government.
The Senate confirmation hearings are sadly comical, but I won’t go into detail here. The democrats are constantly telling the nominees how they want their questions answered by limiting their responses within certain parameters, something that would never stand in a court of law. Some of the people in the democrat’s inquisition are worried. It shows in their eyes, especially with Adam Schiff, who knows that he will eventually be under investigation when Trump’s Department of Justice finally puts its name plates on the desks.
Kash Patel, as director of the FBI, will be the nightmare of many democrats, especially the ones who have recently lost their jobs. Imagine their having to defend themselves with their own money, as DT had to do! When this time comes, Orville Redenbacher will become a rich man. (I love buttered popcorn!)
The Dark Side: Over the last few months, I have been receiving some hate mail, which comes as no surprise to me. They are typical of the democrat party mindset of anger, conceit and venom. Here are a few snippets from the many messages I have received, some in this last week. (bc = because)
you voted for this you bigoted human scum
you chose OBVIOUS incompetence bc you don't have a SHRED of self awareness ...introspectiveness or critical thinking to see that HATE is a sign of WEAKNESS--
fix the reason for your self-loathing instead of being a bully about immigrants of which you fucking idiots don't even realize you ARE ---
or that you do drugs---dealt drugs or have done illegal things but YOU think you should be the Judge and jury and cop of other people and whatever legal or illegal things done by anyone ELSE...
Which isn't EVEN your fucking business!
But you mother fuckers could only think of your bigoted self-ish selves---and now the SHIT SHOW is back---
the first mid-air collision in the US since 1978---and you can pat your bigoted -low-class arrogance---and add ALL the school shootings --bc they only happen bc Right-wing VOTERS vote in assholes who take $ from the gun companies who make HUGE profits off of school shootings---look it up you lazy human scum---
YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE and you're too lazy or stupid to connect the dots !!!
I have been receiving messages like this for months and could address this in several ways. I think that this advice from George Washington’s Farewell Address suits the moment. In this part he addresses the dangers of political party spirit. Please pay close attention to all, especially the third paragraph of this extract:
"This spirit, unfortunately, is inseparable from our nature, having its root in the strongest passions of the human mind. It exists under different shapes in all governments, more or less stifled, controlled, or repressed; but, in those of the popular form, it is seen in its greatest rankness, and is truly their worst enemy.
The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty."
[snip]
"It [party spirit] serves always to distract the public councils and enfeeble the public administration. It agitates the community with ill-founded jealousies and false alarms, kindles the animosity of one part against another, foments occasionally riot and insurrection. It opens the door to foreign influence and corruption, which finds a facilitated access to the government itself through the channels of party passions. Thus the policy and the will of one country are subjected to the policy and will of another."
The point here is that we should not encourage such spirit. But the democrats are promoting it now and have been for decades.
I will have to deal with this person at some point, because they are a neighbor of mine.
Well, here’s to the start of a wonderful February!
