A Quickie on Venezuela
I had to start today’s events with a massive eyeroll when a reporter asked President Trump if he had notified members of Congress about his attack in Venezuela. Obviously, letting Congress know about that operation would have been as bad as sending the attack plans to the Venezuelan government. Trump knew better than to trust politicians who could not define a woman.
The V-mission's astonishing success was due to the professionalism of the military and its secrecy, including the Pentagon's ban on reporters last year. From the success of this mission, it is evident that our military had excellent intelligence from local sources. I also believe the logistics of coordinating so many air and naval assets became possible because the military had been given a new, serious focus on its mission, including the combing out of dissenters and sexually confused recruits from the military ranks. It created more uniformity.
I wish I could have been in the meetings of the forces when they were informed of their upcoming mission.
For the Tom Clancy (A Clear and Present Danger) readers, this may have been akin to when the Special Operations infantry learned of their mission to wage warfare on the drug dealers in Colombia. As they were given their orders, the troops looked at each other with approval, realizing that they could finally do something about the drug dealers who were making so many lives miserable, including people they knew.
This was a major blow to the drug trade in South America, which had its tentacles throughout societies. Now, no profits mean no payouts to the civic leaders, gangs, and thugs who have controlled innocent people. This gives Venezuela a chance to become a country that people want to live in.
There’s more good news; for years, good people have fled the drug countries, whose absence then gave the bad actors more power and less resistance. It now looks like that is going to change. Venezuela now has a chance to be a free nation.
The Venezuelan mission wisely included a transition team to manage the country until a local team is developed, which puts a pie in the face of the Biden administration for their disastrous pull-out from Afghanistan. Already, the democrats are complaining about this move, possibly because of the politics; possibly because their medical supplies keep disappearing into the ocean.
Over the next week, we will learn more about the activities in Venezuela that supported harmful causes.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Steve
