I’ll start this off with a little war note.  If our government publicly explains that they knew something very important, such as Iran was within a week of completing a tactical nuclear weapon, that news release would inform the Iranian military that there was a spy in a limited circle of engineers who knew about the bomb.

Interrogations would be horrible. (see the note at the bottom of this newsletter)

I once talked to an Air Force officer who told me that the design of a nuclear warhead is relatively simple; it’s the engineering and the precision necessary to construct a nuke that is the problem. Our nation constructed several in just a few years back in the 1940s. Iran has had many more years and has had sophisticated CNC machines at the ready. It is far easier to build a nuke now.

Consider this possibility: After Israel conducted the powerful counterattacks against Hamas and Hezbollah, Iran may have decided to up the actions against Israel, to go for their version of a final solution. Someone’s intelligence sources gave the information to Trump and Netanyahu, who had only one viable option. Attack now, or face a far worse situation.

That's a gut feeling of mine; perhaps I have read too many spy novels.

There was a massive strike at an underground missile facility in Iran two days ago.  From what I am reading in reports, the military knew of this compound for years, which had several missile storage rooms and weapons assembly lines deep underground. They waited until some important people were there before conducting the attack.

Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and the UAE believe in replacing the Iranian government.  Great Britain, Spain, and France oppose it, along with most of the Democrat party.  Great Britain has a big, rowdy, Islamic population; do they fear there will be reprisals if the government backs the attacks against Iran?  (It is a stupid question)

Karoline Leavitt wrote, “Just 3 years ago, a resolution condemning the terrorist Iranian regime passed the House by a vote of 420-1. Now, 53 House Democrats just refused to reaffirm that Iran remains the world's largest state sponsor of terrorism. Trump Derangement Syndrome is melting their brains.”

Back in 1969, I was stationed at Chanute AFB in Illinois for my weather observer training. The base had several aircraft on static display, one being a gigantic B-36 Peacemaker.  It had six piston.-powered propellers and four jet engines on the wingtips; they said it had six turning and four burning.  Look at the fuel trucks needed to feed that bird.

The picture above is of a friend of mine, Chris Maddox, “holding up” the front of the giant bomber. I remember he studied Latin at some seminary.

Getting to Chanute is a good story.  A bunch of us servicemen flew from San Antonio, Texas, to Chanute on a chartered Convair-880.  On landing, the pilot set the plane down hard, braked hard, then shut off the engines as we rolled to a stop on the runway.  We were told to stay in our seats until a mobile stairway was brought out so we could deplane.   The baggage was then unloaded on the runway. Imagine fifty servicemen sorting out identical duffel bags.

All of us thought it was strange that the plane stayed on the runway.  Why didn’t it move off to a taxiway or up to operations?  A bus came out to take us to our barracks.  As we boarded it, we saw a large fuel truck move up to the airliner. It had run out of fuel…on landing!

END NOTE: I was going to add more detail here, but decided to give it to you if you ask in a separate email.  You can also look up the case of a kidnapped US intelligence officer, named William F. Buckley, who was tortured for 15 months by Hezbollah.

I’ll leave it at that.

We are dealing with some horrible people.

Steve
