The Constitutionist Newsletter -- December 22, 2024
For the last three days I have been attending the America Fest in Phoenix, listening to some fantastic speakers and enjoying talking to the vendors and the gigantic crowd of attendees. It has been wonderful.
If you go to amfest dot com you can click a link to show all the speakers; virtually every conservative speaker was there. Below is Glenn Beck talking to Sage Steele and Kari Lake being interviewed by Breitbart News. Kari looks great, but I do not understand why wealthy people, like Glenn, wear trashy jeans with holes in their knees. That style of dress would better suit Kamala Harris.…just sayin’.
On the main stage, Glenn Beck showed his version of a political spectrum, from left to right, and how certain political philosophies were plotted on the graph. As his foundation, he judged politics from total government control on the right, to anarchy, no-government, on the left. His model echoes Alexander Hamilton’s model from Federalist Paper #9, then repeated by Cleon Skousen several few years ago.
His talk was entertaining, but his model lacks the discipline necessary to get our government back to its constitutional design. The model I developed uses the Constitution as the foundation, then plots the deviations from our Constitution. Our Constitution is the focus, not the other factions or other governments. We need that measurement to correct our course.
I created a small information sheet on my Constitutional Initial Point and gave it to every news and internet service that was at the festival. Hopefully it will get addressed.
Last year’s America Fest was good, but the worries about the course of our nation, with Biden as president and Kamala on the sidelines, concerned every person there. This year’s was energized by the fact that Donald Trump and his MAGA team are returning as president. This event was the real JOYFUL meeting that the Harris campaign failed to attain.
Today, as I write this, Donald Trump is speaking to the group. I chose not to go, because three days of walking and talking has worn out my 75-year-old legs; I’m not kidding. That, the $40 parking fees and the waiting lines to get through Secret Service searches are just too much.
Admission for the event was only $50, but VIP seating and benefits were some $700; they sold out that special treatment. I watched as some authors autographed books at $30 a pop, with lines of hundreds of people waiting their turn. It was a huge financial success for Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point organization.
We hear about gay rights, black rights, brown rights, transsexual rights, immigrant rights and many others, then we hear about the equal rights amendment. Wouldn’t equal rights abrogate all those other rights?
December 23, 1957, was the day our family arrived in the Canal Zone in Panama. Our ship, the USNS Henry Gibbons, took us from New York City, to Norfolk, then to Guantanamo, Cuba, then Puerto Rico before we docked in Colon, Panama. It was a real adventure for this nine-year-old.
Far right is my late brother, Kent. The family shot shows Kent, Paul, Mom, Kitty and Me. After finally stepping on dry land, we rode the fifty miles in two cars, from the Atlantic side of Panama to the Pacific side; it took 2 hours on curvy jungle road to get to Albrook AFBase. Christmas day in the tropics was quite different. I received one present, plastic army men.
Picked up on the Internet: Somebody complained that Elon Musk is working in government without receiving one vote. Yet Kamala Harris was selected as presidential nominee without a vote. <> Information is now leaking out the President Biden has been acting with diminished capacity (if that) since day one. We need to know who was responsible for hiding this and who was making the decisions in his name. <>
Scott Adams, the creator of the Dilbert comic strip, wrote “The Biden mental competence story has now fully morphed into a Monty Python sketch about a dead parrot and the owner insists it is perfectly healthy. I can’t even listen to people claiming Biden is perfectly fine without hearing a British accent.”
If you do not understand the parrot reference, find the dead parrot sketch on youtube. It is a comedy classic.
How many of you watched the Brit comedy Fawlty Towers?
Back to Charlie Kirk, whose Turning Point USA has focused on student energies and grown into a substantial political influence force. On Facebook he wrote about Trump:
He first blocked the AWFUL CR.
He now has a clean one, with no Democrat pork or member pay raise, including massive economic and disaster aid for farmers and states affected by the hurricanes.
He cut the bill 95% in length down from 1,500 pages.
He eliminated the J6 Committee protection provision and cut out a state department agency associated with censorship.
He is already running Congress before he takes office!
This newsletter is humbly submitted on this day, the 22nd day of December, 2024, with my most sincere wishes for you to have a Merry Christmas!
Steve
