My head is reeling from all the changes that we are seeing from Trump’s executive actions; every day brings a new surprise. But the cherry on top of this political sundae is watching the democrats’ weak counterpunch. After our nation learned that members of congress were using taxpayer dollars from USAID to support their favorite liberal media channels—and that we were paying for condoms for terrorists—the democrat’s rebuttals have no muscle. It is like a match of Pelosi vs. Tyson.
This betrayal of our trust has gone on for decades, so the democrats must shift the focus and find other memes to distract their party faithful, to keep the orange-man-bad meme (wouldn’t that make Trump a man of color?). They are now complaining about all the wonderful illegal aliens, abortion rights, transsexual rights and the Palestinian homeland. As Alexander Hamilton put it, they use the bitterness of their invectives and the loudness of their declamations to win over the minds of some people.
The USAID payoff scam is going to be one of the biggest swindles in our nation’s history. I’m expecting to see investigations that reveal how downstream monies found its way into the families of politicians at every level of government.
This will not end well: Early this month a group of pro-Mexican protestors stopped traffic on Los Angeles freeways, displaying the flags of Mexico, not the United States. Radio host Andrew Wilkow had an interesting statement about the immigrants refusing to adopt the US way of life: “You cannot bring there to here without here becoming there.”
Sports: Trump’s executive order on prohibiting males from competing in women’s sports was a wonderful moment. It was logical and necessary. We now know why the media wasn’t screaming about the transsexual fiasco: they were paid off by the swamp politicians with taxpayer monies.
Here I must add that Trump is shaking the Gaza Strip (I’m hearing it called the Gaza Plaza) issue to get the other nations moving on the problems. Focus on what the area could be—an Eastern Mediterranean resort! He’s not going to put troops there; he knows better. He’s hinting that the neighboring nations must do something themselves, while at the same time criticizing the United Nations for its not being serious about a solution.
From what I’m reading now, no nation wants anything to do with the Palestinian movement. I can’t blame them.
Showing the back row some love: The White House press conferences have gotten quite entertaining. Trump’s new Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, has made it clear that a change will allow hundreds of new reporters into the room. In yesterday’s conference, she ignored many of the standard media channels and called on people in the back, some out of camera range.
One of the first questions came from Garrett Haake, of NBC news. He framed his question in the typical pressitute manner:
“… On Gaza, the president has spent basically his entire public career criticizing foreign entanglements, nation-building, sending American troops to fight abroad, particularly in the Middle East. This plan seems like it could ultimately involve all of those things. Can you explain this reversal and how building and owning Gaza squares with America first foreign policy?
Karoline Leavitt’s response was wonderful. She first destroyed the question:
“I would reject the premise of your question that this forces the United States to be entangled in conflicts abroad. The president has not committed to putting boots on the ground in Gaza. He has also said that the United States is not going to pay for the rebuilding of Gaza. His administration is going to work with our partners in the region to reconstruct this region.
“And let me just take a step back, Garrett, because this is an out of the box idea. That's who President Trump is. That's why the American people elected him. And his goal is lasting peace in the Middle East for all people in the region.”

As Trump works to return our government to its limited design, the blowback is just starting. Keep in mind that he is trying to change some things that were silently forced on the citizens, such as the corrupt funding of various governments and services. Trump must be assertive in his enforcement of the laws that he must uphold, because powerful people are involved in these crimes. Many people are referring to Trump as a bully—yet will not refer to the perpetrators as bullies. You want bullying? Look at Obamacare!
The other issue that frosts my fern is the so-called Nazi salute by some republicans. I photographed events for over fifty years. There were times that I caught a person in the process of a wave or returning a salute where the camera stopped the subject in what looked like a fascist salute. It happens. Therefore, if the gesture is not accompanied by a “sig heil” of “heil Hitler,” it is not a Nazi salute. Don’t fall for it.
Humor for today:
Have a wonderful weekend! Go EAGLES!
